The Rhode Island Affirmative Action Professionals
(RIAAP) is a statewide non-profit organization representing
professionals working in the areas of affirmative action, equal
opportunity, and diversity. Originally founded as a chapter of the
Association of Affirmative Action Professionals, the organization
was established in August 1996 with the following objectives:
- To foster and promote the development of individuals involved in equal opportunity and affirmative action planning and programs;
- To serve as a forum for those with similar concerns to meet and discuss items of mutual interest;
- To act as a resource for the sharing of information relative to employment opportunities and potential candidates from protected groups; and,
- To stimulate and promote public and private sector affirmative action programs.
