The Rhode Island Affirmative Action Professionals
(RIAAP) organization is a community network of volunteers who
feel that affirmative action, equal opportunity and diversity are
important elements of the Rhode Island job market.
RIAAP acts in a coordinated effort to assist people of color
and members of other protected classes learn about and attain employment
opportunities in areas where these groups have been historically
under represented.
Many well intentioned HR directors and Board chairs claim they cannot
find qualified individuals from the abovementioned protected groups.
At the same time they realize, however, that the future of their
company, agency or institution will be greatly impacted by the
skyrocketing diversity that Rhode Island and our country will continue
to experience. For many CEOs, HR directors and Board chairs "the light
has finally come on". We ask you to help us help them!
RIAAP meets at 8:30am on the first Thursday of each month
at East Providence City Hall. The public is invited.
For more information call 457-1144.

If we accept and acquiesce in the face of discrimination, we accept the responsibility ourselves and allow those responsible to salve their conscience by believing that they have our acceptance and concurrence. We should, therefore, protest openly everything
that smacks of discrimination or slander
